Karolyn Fay Evans and her sister, Mary Lynn Evans, both of Jacksonville, IL, died March 1, 2025, at their home in South Jacksonville.  Karolyn was born November 11, 1943, and Mary was born October 5, 1946, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughters of John and Catherine Evans.

Karolyn graduated from J.H.S. in 1961 and worked at various places in Jacksonville, including Krell Printing, the Union Hall and ESP Alternative School.

Mary graduated from J.H.S. in 1964 and held a variety of positions with General Telephone, Central National Life, John Deere Life and CSC.  While working, she obtained her degree from Lincoln Land Community College in 1990.  She was very proficient with computers.  She retired in 2013.

Karolyn was an active member of her graduation class which would meet at the Knights of Columbus in Jacksonville.  Mary regularly attended with her big sister and was eventually made an honorary member of the Class of 1961.

The sisters loved to travel and did so extensively in their RV while visiting many states, including Indian reservations where casinos were located. One of their passions was gambling (small stakes) at the many casinos they would visit.

They were members of Central Christian Church and enjoyed the many friends they met through their association with the Church.

Karolyn and Mary were inseparable in life, so it is fitting that they went to their Heavenly Father together.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, March 27th, at Diamond Grove Cemetery, where they were interred next to their parents.  The Buchanan and Cody Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left online at buchanancody.com.
