Kathleen M. Ommen, 68, of Jacksonville, IL, passed away Saturday August 1, 2026, at Prairie Village Healthcare Center.

She was born December 30, 1957, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Robert Herman and Roseanne R. (Ruppel) Ommen.

Kathleen is survived by her stepbrother, Rick Stokes; and several cousins, including Matt Drane, who was very close to her. She was preceded by her parents; and her sisters, Deborah Kay Ommen in infancy and Patricia Ann Ommen Freesen.

Kathy worked at Walmart in Jacksonville for nearly 30 years. She attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Arenzville, where she taught Bible School for many years. She especially enjoyed flower gardening.

Cremation rites have been administered. A private family service will be held at a later date. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
