Larry L. Weed, 79, of Jacksonville, IL, died Saturday, May 29, 2021, at White Hall Nursing & Rehab in White Hall. He was born Sept. 11, 1941, in Springfield, the son of Walter and Edna Swalley Weed. He married Sue Ellen Zenge on June 11, 1961, and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters and two sons, Shari (Brent) Felten of Vicksburg, MI, Susan (Nate) Van Ryn of Elmhurst, and Scott Weed and Steve Weed, both of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; and one brother, Ron Weed. Mr. Weed received his Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Western Illinois University. He had worked as a teacher and school counselor. Later in life, he became an insurance agent for Country Companies. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Larry enjoyed photography, especially taking pictures of his family. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2021, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Jacksonville Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
