Mable A. Simmons, 83, of Jacksonville, IL, died Monday, March 13, 2023, at her home. She was born August 26, 1939, the daughter of Ed and Vera (Dickson) Hudson, in Grand Tower, IL. She married Terry N. Simmons on May 25, 1963, in Quincy, and he preceded her in death on October 2, 1982. Mable is survived by her daughter, Annette Simmons of Jacksonville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, James and Edward Hudson; and sisters, Margaret Huffman and Ruth Duncan. Mable worked as the manager for the food service department at Jacksonville High School for several years. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville and Chapter E.I. of P.E.O. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her granddog, Gigi. She also enjoyed her several trips to Branson and Florida. A memorial service will be held 11:30 am, Monday, March 20, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. A visitation will be held at 10:30 am until the time of services. A private family committal service will be held later at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
