Madelyn G. McDade, 65, of Jacksonville and formerly of Virginia, passed away Wednesday May 4th, 2022, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, in Jacksonville. She was born March 21, 1957, in Jacksonville, the daughter of C. Allen and Ann Christie Husted McDade. Madelyn is survived by a son, Ryan M. McDade; a daughter, Bridget McDade; and a granddaughter, Saige McDade, all of Jacksonville; a special uncle, Warren Musch of Springfield; and cousins, Randal Musch, David and Guy Manning, and Mary Ardis Buchanan. She was preceded in death by her aunts and uncle, Haroldine Musch and Ross and Mary Beth Manning and a cousin, Cordel Musch. Madelyn graduated from Virginia High School in 1975 and from Illinois College in 1979. She later earned her LPN from District 117 School of Nursing. She was employed at several nursing homes in the Jacksonville Area. She was a member of the former Brooklyn United Methodist Church and more recently the Centenary United Methodist Church. Her great passion in life was caring for her granddaughter, Saige. Following cremation, a public visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 11th, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. A private family committal will be held later at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Memorial gifts may be sent to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
