Maria Teresa Moore, 61, of South Jacksonville, IL died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 3, 1961, in the Philippines, the daughter of Leuro and Bernadita Alegria Salonga. She married James Moore Sr. on March 28, 1988, and he survives. She is also survived by her mother of South Jacksonville; two sons, James (Ariel) Moore Jr. of Ponchatoula, LA, and Laurenz Moore of South Jacksonville; and one sister and two brothers, Mildred (Frank) Williams of Gulfport, MS, Larret (Mitzi) Salonga of Houston, TX, and Benjie Salonga of the Philippines. She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Obet Salonga. Mrs. Moore worked as a C.P.A. and Comptroller for many years. She had served as President of both the Central Illinois Philippine-American Society as well as the Filipino American Association of St. Tammany, where she was also currently serving on the Board. Maria enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling, shopping, and gardening. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date.
