Gertrude Marie Woods, 87, of Jacksonville, IL died Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Forrest Cottage, KY, the daughter of Travis and Pearl Wright Marland. She married Don Woods Sr. on May 26, 1990, in Jacksonville and he survives. She is also survived by five children, Terry L. McMeans of Jacksonville, Donald J. McMeans of Colorado, Deborah K. (Phillip) Darling of Texas, and Edward E. Baldwin Jr. of Jacksonville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one sister, Rosetta Meyers. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Timothy L. McMeans; three sisters, Betty McDowell, Dorris Colleen, and Phyllis Nobell; and one brother, William Travis. Marie was an L.P.N. at Passavant Area Hospital from Aug. 5, 1969-July 31, 2001. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She loved her puppies, garage sales, and last but not least the Green Bay Packers. At this time there will be no services.
