Marilyn I. Fricke, 70, of Jacksonville, IL died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra. She was born May 31, 1952, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Alvin G. "Bud" and Neta B. (Six) Birdsell. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (David) Beard of Springfield; her son, Matthew (Dottie) Fricke of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Paige Daniels, Brady Daniels, Landen Fricke, Tyler Mouret, and Maura McDaniel; and one sister, Nancy (Melvin) Black. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Allison Marie McDaniel. Marilyn worked for Community Living Options in several area group homes. She grew up attending First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, was a longtime member of Murrayville United Methodist Church, and then attended Central Christian Church in Jacksonville. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and making floral arrangements. A Celebration of Life gathering will be hosted by the family from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at Bogarts Banquet Hall in Jacksonville.
