Marilyn Kay Seymour, 90, a longtime resident of Meredosia, IL passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

She was born March 13, 1935, in Beardstown, the daughter of Frederick and Mary Kay (Keiser) Gust. She married Donald Lee Seymour in 1956 and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2021.

She is survived by four sons, Mike (Cindy) Seymour of Raymond, California, Jim Seymour of Meredosia, Steve (Sandy) Seymour of Lynnville, and Bill Seymour of Springfield; three grandchildren, David (Allie) Seymour of Fresno, CA, Matt (Eve) Seymour of Raymond, CA, and Kaylee (Amy) Seymour of Houston, TX; and six great grandchildren, Ezra, Donovan, Olivia, David, Marley, and Jacia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, John Gust.

Mrs. Seymour was a graduate of Passavant School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse for 40 years. She was a lifelong member of Meredosia Church of Christ, and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Meredosia American Legion. Memorials are suggested to the Meredosia Rescue Squad. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
