Marilyn J. Staake Moore, 90, of Jacksonville, IL died Tuesday, November 29, 2022. She was born November 15, 1932, the daughter of Glenn and Nel Metz Hobbs in Chambersburg. Marilyn attended school in Chambersburg until her family moved to Meredosia where she graduated from Meredosia High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Gail M. Staake in 1951 and settled into a farming life for 32 years. She and Gail had two children, Stephanie (Donny) Bradley of Jacksonville and Brian (Shelby) Staake of Meredosia. Gail preceded her in death in 1983. Marilyn started anew by moving to Jacksonville and married Jack C. Moore in 1992. They were married for 17 years. Jack preceded her in death in 2009. Marilyn was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Theda Hann. She is survived by her children, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Marilyn enjoyed traveling, genealogy, music, and dancing. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery north of Meredosia.
