Martha Ann Klopfer, 75, of Meredosia, IL went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 6, 1947, in Alton, the daughter of Verlin and Frances (Miller) Lanier. She married Francis Klopfer on Aug. 7, 1965, in Chambersburg and he survives. She is also survived by one son Ritchard (Paula) Klopfer, and one daughter, Amie Klopfer, both of Meredosia; four grandchildren, Allison (Josh) Lewis of Jacksonville, Airman Coale Klopfer of Alamogordo, NM, Airman Clayton Klopfer of Cheyenne, WY, and Hadley Hicks of Springfield, MO; one great grandson, Chase Lewis of Jacksonville; her brother, Bradley (Pamela) Lanier of Quincy; her sister, Lana Kay Lemmon of Meredosia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Claude Lemmon. Mrs. Klopfer was a graduate of Meredosia-Chambersburg High School. Later in life, she drove a school bus for the M-C School District. She was a member of the Chambersburg Christian Church and a founding member of the Meredosia Quilt Guild. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, camping with friends, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at Chambersburg Christian Church, with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia. The family will meet friends 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to Chambersburg Christian Church. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia is in charge of the arrangements.
