Mary Ann Eddings, 78, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at her home, with her son by her side. She was born Jan. 19, 1945, in rural Chandlerville, the daughter of Glenn Irving and Hester (Chilton) Eilers. She is survived by her son, David Eddings of St. Clair, MO; three grandchildren, Isaiah, Isabella and Lillian Eddings; one brother, Harold Eilers of Chandlerville; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Eilers of Chandlerville; her niece, Lori Eilers; and three nephews, Brian, Andy and Brad Eilers. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eugene; and infant sister, Sharon. Mary Ann graduated from Chandlerville High School in 1963. She was saved and baptized when she was young and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Chanderville. She was Postmaster at Alexander, IL Post Office. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Jacksonville and also enjoyed game shows, especially the Price is Right, Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
