Mary Ann Edwards, 89, of Ashland, IL, died Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Medical Center.

She was born March 3, 1935, in Sangamon County, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Whelan) Wallbaum.

She married James H. Edwards on June 8, 1957, St. Augustine Church in Ashland, and he preceded her in death on December 15, 2005.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Tom) Heather of Ashland; two sons, Mike (Katrice) Edwards of Romeoville, and Rick Edwards of Ashland; four grandchildren, Aubrey (Jason) Bloodworth, Kaeleigh Edwards, Makenzie Edwards, and Logan Edwards; and one great grandson, Jeremiah Bloodworth. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Wallbaum (deceased wife, Liz), John Wallbaum (surviving wife, Linda), and Francis Wallbaum, in infancy.

Mary Ann was a graduate of Pleasant Plains High School. She began working for Bendorf Ford. She later owned and operated Edwards Plumbing and Heating with her husband, Jim. She had also been a secretary in Dr. Kathy Smith's office. Finally, she served as village clerk for the Village of Ashland for several years. Mary Ann was a member St. Augustine Catholic Church in Ashland. She enjoyed golfing.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, June 13, 2024, at St. Augustine Church in Ashland, with burial at St. Augustine Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
