Mary Jean Elliott, 78, a long-time resident of Springfield, IL, died Monday, February 28, 2022, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville. She was born Nov. 22, 1943, in Springfield, the daughter of Everett and Claribell Spicer Elliott. She is survived by her daughter, Monica Daye of Fort Valley, GA; brother, George W. Elliott of rural Jacksonville; and sister, Gail Elliott (Roy) of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother in infancy, Gary Edwin Elliot; and one sister, Karen Rockhill. Mary was a graduate of Ashland High School. She worked for Horace Mann in Springfield for over thirty years. She was also a member of Liter Baptist Church. Private family services will be held.
