Mary Belle Fox, 88, of Meredosia, IL, died Fri. February 26th, 2021, in Jacksonville. She was born November 30th, 1932, to John Thomas Kerr and Bessie Irene (Bowen) Kerr in rural Brown County Illinois. Mary graduated from Brown County High School, Western Illinois State College and Western Illinois University She was a teacher at schools in Mt. Sterling, Timewell, Beardstown and Meredosia. Later Mary was Assistant Regional Superintendent for the Brown, Schyler and Cass county region. Mary also helped begin the town library in Meredosia and was a licensed real estate saleswoman, and tax preparer. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Fox. Surviving are her sister, Shirley Dodds; good friend Barbra Mitchell; children Andrew, Angela, John and Joe (Regina) Fox; grandchildren Steven Hurst, James Hurst, Alex Tillitt, Reina Russell, Micheal Fox, Jessica Fox and Lauren Fox. Mary is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Due the pandemic, a private service will be conducted at a later date.
