Michael Lee "Big Dad" Bell, 58, of Ashland, Illinois passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his home.

He was born April 27, 1967, in Jacksonville the son of William "Buddy" and Patsy (Turner) Bell. He married Melissa Bloomfield on October 13, 2024, in Ashland and she survives.

He is also survived by two sons and one daughter, Lukas Bell of Virginia, Lacie (Ethan) Moffitt of Ashland, and Devin Branstner of Carbondale; two grandchildren, Silas and Vayda Moffitt; one brother, Bill (Vickie) Bell of Virginia; one sister, Linda (Greg) Henry of Petersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Mike liked to keep busy and would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed riding his Harley, loved to laugh, and had the best smile. He especially loved spending time with his family and was the best PawPaw ever!

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held 1-3 P.M. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, with remarks shared by Duke Damotte at 2:30, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. A second celebration will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to PAWS of Jacksonville. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
