Michael Joe Correll, 74, of Jacksonville, IL, passed away Wed., Feb. 17, 2021, in Springfield. Born in Jacksonville on Dec. 10, 1946, he was the son of Ernest and Sylvia (Wallace) Correll. He is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Scott) Sullivant of Leesburg, VA, and Jamie Stout of Springfield; two granddaughters, Chloe and Katie Sullivant, both of Leesburg, VA; and a nephew, Randy (Diane) Correll of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronnie Correll (surviving wife Mildred of Jacksonville); and his special furry friend, Butchie. Mr. Correll worked at the Jacksonville Developmental Center for many years and was a member of the local Laborers Union. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He especially enjoyed traveling across the nation on his motorcycle. A visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. A graveside service will follow at Jacksonville Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to PAWS of Jacksonville.
