Nancy Mae Morris, 68, of Jacksonville, IL, died Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Passavant Area Hospital. She was born February 18, 1953, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Oscar and Melva Jean Florence Hayes. Nancy was married to Dennis Morris, and he preceded her in death. Nancy is survived by eight children, Shannon Morris of Jacksonville, Richard Morris of Jacksonville, Victoria Copley of Jacksonville, Tiger (Flo) Morris of Jacksonville, Steven (Trish) Morris of Meredosia, Stephani (Doug) Morris of Jacksonville, Kelsey (Dylan) Morris of Jacksonville, and Timothy (Beth) Anders of Jacksonville; twenty-five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and three brothers, William Lee (Judy) Hayes of Oklahoma, and Evin Thomas (Annette) Hayes and James Oscar (Sherry) Hayes, both of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Raleigh Bartimus. Nancy had worked for Jacksonville Terrace Nursing Home in Dietary Services, and later for Pathway Services Unlimited Inc. as a residential aid. She was great at her work because she loved to help others and make them laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her sister, Judy, going to garage sales and playing bingo. She was also known to play the quarter slots on the boat. Nancy had spent many hours visiting and drinking coffee with friends. She encouraged her children to attend church at the Salvation Army. She was also an organ donor, and even though she is gone, her eyes will be a blessing to someone else. Nancys greatest joy was spending time with her many grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
