Patricia "Pat" Livingston French, 87, of Virginia, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Cass County Senior Living and Rehab in Virginia.

She was born July 25, 1938, in Beardstown, the daughter of Roy and Clara Rose (Hobrock) Livingston. Pat married Billy John French on June 20, 1958, in Beardstown, and he preceded her in death.

Pat is survived by one sister, Sharon "Katy" Livingston of Springfield and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Betty Cooper, Rosemary Suffern, and Judy Livingston.

She graduated from Beardstown High School in 1956. Her husband, Bill, was a horse trainer for over thirty years and had been a show judge as well. She worked day and night with him and enjoyed traveling around the U.S. and a few other countries with him for his work.

Pat was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Virginia. She enjoyed her mornings sitting by the kitchen window observing the wildlife, drinking her coffee, and having a "sweet" treat. Pat loved to read. She also loved spending time with her friends, whom she had a special place in heart for. The biggest love of her life was her husband, Bill.

A funeral service will be held 11am Monday, March 2, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church in Virginia, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery afterwards. Before the service, the family will greet friends at the church from 10 am until the time of service. Memorial donations are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church of Virginia or P.A.W.S. of Jacksonville. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
