Patricia "Joann" Carriger, 84, of Jacksonville, IL, died Thursday, June 6, 2024, at her home.

She was born June 29, 1939, in Nortonville, the daughter of Vina (Inman) Knapp. She married Harold Carriger October 8, 1955, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2016.

She is survived by her children, Rita (Jerry) Gulley of Traverse City, MI, William Carriger of Poland, NY, and Kevin and Jay (Amy) Carriger, both of Jacksonville; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; husband; siblings, Mary Pearl Morris, Charles Knapp, William Knapp, Gene Knapp, Tom Knapp, Jim Knapp, and Margaret Witherbee; and one great grandson, David Carriger.

Joann worked at Walmart. She loved to read, work out in the yard, and had just found the joy of playing games on her cellphone. Joann loved her dog, Buddy.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of her great granddaughter, Lynnleigh.
