Patricia Sue McDaniels, 63, of Meredosia, Illinois, passed away on July 9th, 2025, at her residence. She was born on August 8th, 1961, in Champaign, the daughter of Lloyd and Oval Dunwoodie. Patricia graduated from Centennial High School in 1979 and later earned her Beauty School Certification.

She is survived by her former husband and friend, Walter McDaniels of Meredosia; her two daughters, Cassandra (Andrew) Walker, of Meredosia, and Heidi McDaniels (Joseph Watson), of Franklin; two grandchildren, Thomas Walker and Zander Walker; her sister, Debbie Yates of Lena; her niece Nichole (David) Anderson of South Beloit; her nephew, Daniel Yates of Lena; her great nieces, Lillian Yates and Teagan Anderson; and her great nephew, Jackson Yates. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Patricia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She held the position of Head Bakery Manager at Eagle Foods before transitioning to a career in banking, working at both National City Bank and Prairie State Bank & Trust. She was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to every career she pursued. She found fulfillment in her work and valued the relationships she built with her coworkers and customers. She cherished spending time with her family and friends and was proud to volunteer at Bread of Love in Meredosia.

In her free time, Patricia enjoyed watching Reba and crime dramas like NCIS and CSI. She took great joy in watching her grandsons participate in their extracurricular activities. Also, taking scenic drives and watching for wildlife along the way. She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved pets and grandpets.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The family will meet with friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Memorials are suggested to Children's Cancer Society, P.A.W.S. Animal Rescue of Jacksonville, or the Meredosia Rescue and Fire Squad in Patricia's honor. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
