Virginia Patsy Buhlig, 72, entered eternal life Monday, August 1, 2022. She was born May 22, 1950, to Bruce and Mary Smith Newman. She wed David Buhlig on February 9, 1970, in Meredosia and he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2020. She is survived by son David (Dawn) Buhlig of Meredosia, daughter Katrina Buhlig of Champaign; three grandchildren, Candace Buhlig (Shylo Valdes), Shelbie (Daniel) Flath, and Jacob Buhlig; four great grandchildren; brother Thomas (Lori) Newman; and sister Gayle (Frank) Fanshier. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers, Larry and Doug. Patsy was a well-known entrepreneur and talented artist. She owned and operated various businesses over the years: Pats Corner, Pats Creations, Thyme for Tea, and Pat and Ds Funky Finds. Patsy was a faithful member of Faith Tabernacle Church in Jacksonville for 40 years. She loved the Lord, her "D", and her family with all her heart. A visitation will be held at Faith Tabernacle Church in Jacksonville on Saturday August 6, 2022, from 6-7:30 p.m. There will be a Celebration of Life at Faith Tabernacle Church on Sunday August 7, 2022, at 3 p.m. Memorials are suggested to hospiceheartsanimalrescue.org.
