Patti Diane (Cox) Scott, 64, of Virginia, IL, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. Patti was born December 21, 1957, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Donald and Sylvia Noel Cox. She married William "Bill" Scott on October 6, 1973, in Virginia and he survives. She is also survived by her father of Virginia; two sons, Brad (Missy) Scott and Kirk Scott, both of Virginia; grandchildren, Madison (Pono) Petersen, stationed in Augusta, GA, Briley Scott and Brady Scott, both of Virginia; her godson, Kaleb Estrada Gill of Florida; one sister, Kay (Donnie) Reynolds of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; her brother, Randy Cox; and one sister, Donna Sue Cox in infancy. Patti was a 1976 graduate of Virginia High School and then attended Browns Business College. She had cooked at several Virginia restaurants and had also been a bookkeeper for Reynolds & Sons in Virginia. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Virginia. Patti enjoyed playing softball, but especially loved following her sons and grandchildren in their sports and activities. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Following the service, a luncheon gathering will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Virginia.
