Paul Edward Laich, 78, of Woodson, IL passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025, at his home.

He was born on August 6, 1947, the son of Paul and Minerva (Harr) Laich. He married Sheri Lanham in Jacksonville and she survives.

Paul is also survived by his stepchildren, Jennifer (Brad) Baptist of Jacksonville, Benjamin (Michelle) Reese of Ashland, and Dane (Bonnie) Dorsey of Norman, Oklahoma; twelve step-grandchildren; and his siblings, Carol Reed, Dave Laich, Susan Laich and Bonnie Frye, all of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Paul graduated from Latrobe (PA) High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS John F. Kennedy. He retired after 30 years from Pittsburgh Plateglass. He attended Mass at Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville. He loved gardening and was a generous and giving person.

A  graveside service will be held at 12 noon Friday, November 28, 2025, at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family. Memorials are suggested to the Veteran's Administration. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
