Helen M. "Peggy" Barth, 90, of Jacksonville, IL, formerly of Meredosia, died Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.

She was born Sept. 2, 1932, in Jacksonville, the daughter of James and Alice (Taylor) Evans. She married Arthur Barth on November 1, 1952, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death Jan. 9, 2003.

She is survived one brother, Larry (Connie) Evans of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Alfred Ray Barth; and three brothers and two sisters, Danny, Eddie Ray, Alfred Dean, Doris Deweese, and Aline Campbell.

Peggy graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1952. She worked as part of the kitchen staff at Norm's Tap & Grill in Meredosia for many years.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Meredosia Rescue Squad.
