Peggy Sue Lynch Staats, 69, of Hillview, IL, died Thursday, May 4, 2023, at White Hall Nursing Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1953, in Springfield, the daughter of Russell and Bessie (Wilcoxson) Lynch. She married Lloyd L. Staats in 1982, in Mason City, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2021. She is survived by two sons, Drew (Rachael) Staats of South Carolina and Alan (Tiffany) Staats of White Hall; four grandchildren, Braedyn, Russell, Allie, and David; and two sisters, Pam Eller of Iowa, and Dee (Jerry) Jepson of Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Gene Lynch. Peggy was a 1972 graduate of Mason City High School and had worked at Bound to Stay Bound Books in Jacksonville for many years. Cremation rites have been accorded and private services will be held. Memorials are suggested to the donors choice. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements.
