Phyllis Kay Trusler, 84, of Jacksonville, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at her home. She was born June 22, 1938, in DeQueen, AR, the daughter of Barney and Elizabeth (Crowder) Matthews. She married Gerald "Jerry" Trusler on May 12, 1956, in Los Angeles, CA, and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2016. She is survived by three sons, Jon Mark Trusler of Terre Haute, IN, Anthony Lee Trusler (wife, Paula) of Bowling Green, IN and Truet Trusler (wife, Dawn) of Winchester; many grandchildren and great grandchildren by birth, by adoption, marriage, fostering and by mentoring, who were of great value to her and Grandpa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Rod Trusler (surviving wife, Marlene). Mrs. Trusler was a 1956 graduate of Citrus Union High School in Azusa, CA. Phyllis and Jerry moved to Jacksonville in 1986 when he began working at Capitol Records. She enjoyed traveling to many wonderful places with Jerry and felt so blessed to be able to experience so many of Gods good blessings. She was a member of the Jacksonville Church of Christ. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends 4:00 6:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
