Robert K. Michaels Sr., 86, of Jacksonville, Illinois, passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Robert Kenneth Michaels Sr. was born April 9, 1938, in Carrollton, a son of Nelson and Hilda (Adams) Michaels. Robert was united in marriage to Lois L. Cunningham on December 5, 1960. And she preceded him in death on May 11, 2014.

Those left to honor his memory are his children and their spouses: Robin Michaels of Jacksonville, Robert (Joelle) Michaels of East Moline, Catherine Michaels of Jacksonville, Eugene (Rachel) Michaels of Jacksonville, and Brady (Amy) Michaels of Jacksonville; ten grandchildren: Joshua, Jessica, Crystal, Kyla, Rosemary, Kyle, Aaliyah, Kiara, Cody, and Stanley; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and daughters Betty Jane Michaels and Margret (Michaels) Brogdon. May they all rest in peace.

Robert was proud to have been a member of the Army Reserves stationed in Korea.

A private family burial will take place at the Diamond Grove Columbarium in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or American Cancer Society.
