Robert E. White, Sr., 61, of Jacksonville, IL, sadly left us on March 16, 2023, following a battle with lung cancer. Robert was born May 6, 1961, to Tommie and Clara Banjo White. He is survived by his fianc, Melissa Thornton; daughter, Annabelle Wilson; sons, Robert White Jr. of Springfield, and Mondre White of Jacksonville; stepchildren, Fiana (Tylor) White, Erica (Logan) Land, and Jacob Thornton, all of Jacksonville; brothers, Willie (Julie) White Sr. of Jacksonville, Jimmy (Robin) White Sr. of Westville, and Frankie (Ashley) White of Jacksonville; sisters, Geneva Freeman of Chicago and Berta (Craig) Perry of Alton; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Freddie McGee Jr., John Henry Gilmore, Jessie White Sr., and Sammie White; and two sisters, Eva Gilmore and Theresa White. Roberts passion was fishing. He enjoyed serving up his daily catch to his friends and family in many fish fries. He loved to camp and ride around town with his music up loud, enjoying life. He was an ordained minister of which he was so honored to perform the wedding of his beloved daughter, Erica Land. Join us for the graveside service on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Jacksonville East Cemetery. The family will meet friends 1-2 P.M. at the cemetery prior to the service.
