Ron E. Barber, 72, of Jacksonville, IL died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 13, 1950, in Jacksonville, the son of Ray and Anna Kriegler Barber. He married John Vaughn Aug. 16, 2011, in Springfield and he survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Ashley Vaughn of Springfield; and one grandson, Alex Warren of Ashdown, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Leilana Warren; and his brother, Gary Lee Barber (surviving wife Diane of Chapin). Ron has owned and operated Barber Florist since 1969. He loved animals, having many pets over the years, and he enjoyed feeding the birds. He also enjoyed nature, being outside, fishing, gardening, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, and an occasional trip to the casino. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery.
