Sally Martin, 79, of South Jacksonville, IL, died May 21, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 11, 1942, in Chandlerville, the daughter of William Franklin and Mary Edith Stoneking Fields. She married William Henry "Hank" Martin on Apr. 7, 1961, in Havana and he preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2008. She is survived by Mary (Eugene) Tangman of Waycross, GA, Kim (Terry) Hefley of Bath, and Tina (Donnie) Leetham of Beardstown; five grandchildren, Sonya Killebrew, Jeremy Martin, Kindyerra Martin, Kya Mott, and Tiffany Gann; several great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; six brothers and sisters, William F. (Sue) Fields of Kingsport, TN, Thomas Fields of Springfield, Carol (Lee) Troxell of Virginia, Rose Ford of Jacksonville, Doris (Stanley) Fanning of Jacksonville, and Rodney Davis of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her parents that raised her, Ralph E. and Agnes J. "Peg" Collins Davis; and five brothers and sisters, Allie Mae Fields, Margaret Ann Davis, Harold Wayne Davis, Betty Sue Jackson, and Victor E. Davis. Mrs. Martin enjoyed collecting roosters and angels, storytelling, joking around, nature and roses. Sally was a loving person, and especially loved spending time with her family and making people feel good. A visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in care of Tina Leetham.
