Sandra Kaye Verry Hoon, 81, of Jacksonville, IL, died Monday, January 29, 2024, at Hallmark Healthcare Center in Carlinville.

She was born October 5, 1942, in Chicago, the daughter of Glenn Henry and Annie Bernice (Cox) Verry.

Sandra is survived by her children, Glennice Brackett of Litchfield, William "Buzz" (Pamela) Hoon of Clarksville, TN, Larae Wyatt of Gillespie, and Brett (Angela) Hoon of Jacksonville; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; brothers, Frank (Doris) Majewski of LaSalle and Ronald Verry of Havana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Kenneth "Bubba" Wyatt Jr.

Sandra worked for the State of Illinois for many years. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She was an avid Cub and Bulls fan. Sandra also loved Elvis.

A private family graveside will be held at Bath Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be left online at buchanancody.com.
