In Loving Memory of Sharon Ann Mahoney Rogers
Sharon Ann Mahoney Rogers was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, dedicated teacher, and treasured friend. Her life was filled with family, friendships, laughter, and the simple moments that often become our most cherished memories.
The only child of Harold and Anna Margaret Mahoney, Sharon married Richard Rogers on October 11, 1969. Together, they built a life centered around family, raising three daughters and welcoming four grandchildren who brought her so much pride and joy.
Teaching was a career Sharon truly loved. She dedicated many years to educating children of different ages, finding joy in helping students learn and grow. Her involvement extended beyond the classroom, including her role as a “Band-Aid” for the marching band, a responsibility she took quite seriously.
Sharon enjoyed life and the people who shared it with her. She treasured lunches with friends, loved traveling and discovering new places, and never passed up a good Broadway show. She was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini fan. She had a special love for Christmas, with all its traditions and opportunities to bring family together. She also loved her animals, especially Molly, her girl, who remained faithfully by her side and watched over her in the end.
Above all, Sharon was there for her family. School programs, sporting events, performances, and milestones, big or small. If her children or grandchildren were involved, she was there, proudly cheering them on. It was one of the many ways she showed her love.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Richard Rogers; her daughters, Michele (Andy), Angie (Wade), and Alicia (Matt); and her beloved grandchildren, Matthew (Jenna), Brendan (Kiarra), Brigid, and Anna. She also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family members.
Sharon leaves behind a lifetime of memories, friendships, family traditions, and stories that will continue to be shared. She will be missed at the holiday table, in the stands, and in all those everyday moments that won’t quite be the same without her.
Deeply loved, forever missed, and always a part of the family she held so dear.
