Loretta Sue Noel, 76, of Ashland, Illinois, passed away March 21, 2026, peacefully at her home.

She was born February 17, 1950, in Beardstown, the daughter of James and Ruby Lorene (Cox) Olroyd. She married James Noel and he survives.

She is also survived by a brother, Roger Olroyd of Virginia; grandchildren, Samuel Little, Matthew Little, Leah Russell and Kody Noel; great grandchildren, Landon, Izzy, Xavier, Liam, Emberly, and Layla; her loyal companions, Delmar and Peter; a niece, Hidie Ham; nephews, Brian, James, and Shane Harbison. She is preceded in death by her parents; her children, Dennis Noel and Kimberly Duckwiler; and one sister, Vicki Harbison.

Loretta attended school in Virginia and worked at Casey's in Ashland for many years until retirement. She enjoyed her time with her kids and grandchildren, spent many weekends at the cabin, going to the boat for some good luck, playing bingo with her dear friend Sharlee and sister Vicki. She loved being a wife and mother, spent most days at home watching scary movies and baking. Loretta loved Halloween and handing out popcorn balls to the Trick-or-Treaters.

There will be a visitation 4-6 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Ashland. Cremation rites will then be accorded. Memorials may be left to PAWS of Jacksonville. Condolences may be left buchanancody.com.
