Susan F. Hacker, 76, of Jacksonville, IL, died Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Susan was born April 9, 1946, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Cecil and Helen Mardell Beeley Strubbe. She married Larry R. Hacker on June 26, 1964, in Jacksonville, and he survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Jeannette (Terry) Lacy of Jacksonville; son, Greg (Amy) Hacker of Murrayville; six grandchildren, Terris, Lindsey, Brooklyn, Breanna, Tyler, and Corey; and ten great grandchildren. Susan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kaye Smith Suter; and brother, Gary Dean Strubbe (surviving wife, Kathy of Springfield). Susan was a 1964 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She had worked at Passavant Area Hospital, then Warelubco, and finished her career working for the Morgan County Treasurers Office. She also helped Larry on the family farm. Susan loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery.
