Thomas L. "Tommy" Woods, 77, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 5, 1946, in Springfield, MO, the son of James Edward Sr. and Minnie A. (Greene) Woods.

He is also survived by two daughters, Demetria (Andy) Stafford of St. Petersburg, FL and Courtney (Curtis) Woods-Ervin of Jacksonville; two granddaughters, Jazmyn Childress of Jacksonville and Alexis Childress of St. Petersburg, FL; one great grandson, Trey Childress of Jacksonville; and three sisters and two brothers, Zelda (Elmer) Mitchell, James (Robin) Woods Jr., Jamesetta Woods, and Don Woods Sr. (deceased wife Marie), all of Jacksonville, and Gwendolyn Woods of Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, April A. Woods; and one sister, Careva Banks.

Mr. Woods was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He was a manager and retired from C.I.P.S. in Meredosia. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. Tommy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching sports, especially baseball. He loved spending time with his family.
