Victor Tyrone Branch, 58, of Springfield, IL, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born February 6, 1964, in Jacksonville, the son of Jimmy "Sonny" Robinson and Sarah Nadine Clark Branch. Victor is survived by his two children, Tracy and Jaylon; six sisters, Pamela (Greg) Helmer, Glenda (Jonathon) Walls, Sarah Branch, Brenda Craine, Tronya Robinson, and Serita Criss; six brothers, Diondray (Carrie) Branch, Bryan Branch, Robert Branch, James (Doreen) Bean, Dean Myrick, and Todd Myrick; uncle, Barry Sheppard; many nieces and nephews; companion, Christy Turner; and Don & Nancy Jolly, who were close family mentors. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Montopolis Branch; and two sisters, Verneda Elliott and Sharon Clay. Mr. Branch received his GED and had worked in construction, painted houses, and did other odd jobs. He was a volunteer mentor at Church Day Camp. Victor enjoyed going to church, bible study, and fellowship with friends and family. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. A private family service will be held on a later date, with burial at Jacksonville East Cemetery. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements.
