Wanda Lou Lewis Heather (Wanda Coy), age 70, of Springfield IL, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born on July 18, 1951, in Hardinsburg, KY, the daughter of Thomas J. Sr. and Lucille McClellan Lewis. Wanda was a native of Ashland, IL and a member of the St. Augustine Parish. She was a 1969 graduate of Ashland High School, a retiree from the State of Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources, and lived in Ashland, Springfield, Naperville, and Chicago over her lifetime. Wanda was known for her selfless generosity and unconditional love - she has touched the lives of so many. She was an avid gardener, loved antiquing and baking, and spending time with her family and friends. Wanda is survived by her daughters, Angela Coy and Christina Coy Davison; her son-in-law Matt; her beloved grandsons, Ben and Zach; and her sisters and brothers Mary Parks, Brenda Myers, Anna & Larry Ratliff, Tom & Marge Lewis, and Joe & Kathy Moffitt. She is also survived by her ex-husband and father of her children, Dave Coy; plus many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; as well as countless friends, including her loyal cat, Saluki and her boyfriend Denney Keeney. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patty Moffitt; brother Larry Lewis; and both parents, Tom and Lucille Lewis. A funeral Mass will be held 10:00AM Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at St. Augustine Church in Ashland, with burial at St. Augustine Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 8:30-9:45 AM prior to the service at the church. Following the committal services, a memorial luncheon will be held at the St. Augustine Catholic Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The American Cancer Society or Autism Speaks.
