Wanda L. Irlam, 86, of Jacksonville, IL died Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia. She was born May 30, 1936, in Exeter, the daughter of George and Helen (Collison) Splain. She married John T. Irlam on Apr. 18, 1954, in Murrayville and he preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2000. She is survived by one son, John W. (Shirley) Irlam of Jackson, TN; one daughter, Brenda (Chris) Cutler of Bella Vista, AR; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Holt of Jacksonville; and one brother, Ron Splain of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Lisa Gail Hitchings (surviving husband Don of Ashland); and two brothers, Gary Splain and Larry Splain. Mrs. Irlam worked in food service for Jacksonville School District #117 for over twenty years. She had been a member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church and was Past President of the Labor Drive Residents Council. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 12, 2023, at Murrayville City Cemetery. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
