William A. "Al" McIntyre, 85, of Jacksonville, IL, died Friday, March 1, 2024, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 27, 1938, in New Castle, PA, the son of William B. and Helen Kaye (Hayden) McIntyre. He married Ruby Joyce Corbin on Feb. 9, 1964, and she survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Denise Ann McIntyre of Chicago; one brother, Mike McIntyre; and one sister, Roberta Klaproth, both of California. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Barbara Ann.

Al served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962, stationed in Scotland and Okinawa. In his younger years, he loved to work in his yard. He was a talented athlete in high school and continued to be an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed hockey.

Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent online at buchanancody.com.
