Obituary

William C. Peek Sr., 59, of Jacksonville, IL, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born May 26, 1963, in Jacksonville, the son of James and Phyllis (Ingram) Peek. He married Christina Walker Brown on February 13, 2008, in Jacksonville, and she survives. They spent an amazing 30 years together as best friends. He is also survived by his mother, Phyllis Bostick of Bluffs; his children of a blended family but loved as his own, Nicole Brown (Aaron Hymen) of Jacksonville, Stephanie (Ben) McCurley of Winchester, Phillip (Sondra) Brown of Hillview, Bill Peek Jr. (Kim Michiaels) of South Jacksonville, Jacob Brown of Meredosia, Brent (Makayla) Brown of Winchester; and bonus boys, Mykal and Xandor Stinson, who live with him. Bill is also survived by his grandchildren (who were his greatest joy), Devin and Orion Anderson, Yesod Eliot, Payten, Sasha and Amos McCurley, Aeriona and Alphonzo Sykes, Hunter Hayes, Emma Brown, and Cassadee and Livy Brown; and siblings, Mary Crane Richard of Farmington, NY, James "Jim" (Donna) Peek of Marnico Village, Darlene Peek of Bluffs, Barbara (James) Dillion of Jacksonville, and Angie Fearneyhough of Bluffs. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Freddy Manker; and grandson, Hudson Brown, who he plans on going puddle jumping with. Bill loved to go have coffee at his two favorite places, Rudis Grill and Kims Place. He was a jokester and could turn anything around on you. He liked playing pool, cards, and visiting with family and friends. If you knew him, you couldnt help but like him; he was easy going and easy to talk to. He held many jobs throughout his life, but his most favorite was working construction with his brother Jim, who he adored and wanted to be more like. A celebration of life and medical fund benefit will be held Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Bogart's in Jacksonville, beginning at 1 p.m. There will be food available, with music at 2 p.m. and a live auction starting at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Christina Peek to assist with expenses. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com. .
