Wilma I. (Green) Detrick, 92, of Jacksonville, IL, went home to Heaven on Saturday, August 6, 2022. She was born March 3, 1930, in Bernadotte, IL, the daughter of Donald and Helen (Bubb) Green. She married Walter E. Detrick on Sept. 1, 1948, and they later divorced. She is survived by two sons, Eldon (Catherine) Detrick and Ernest Detrick; five grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Gregory, Beau (Sarah) Detrick, Clint Detrick, Dan (Jennifer) Ingram and Cindy (Rich) Wilhelm; thirteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; one brother, Dallas (Marlene) Green; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her long-time companion, Tom Cooley; two children, Edwin Detrick and Evelyn (deceased husband, Lyle) Ingram; one great grandson, Nathaniel Wilhelm; and one sister, Twila McSperritt Burnham. Wilma graduated in 1948 from Macomb High School. A lady of faith, she was integral to the Jacksonville community and was involved with the Lions Club, the YMCA, Strawn Art Gallery, Pathway Services, Visiting Nurses Association and was a hostess at Perkins Restaurant. She worked at Country Companies and was Charter President of Insurance Women and then became a Certified Professional Insurance Woman. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and formerly a member of First Christian Church of Jacksonville. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, crafts, and doting on her grandchildren who were the light of her life. Per Wilmas request, cremation rites have been accorded. The family will host a memorial service 10:00 am Friday, August 12, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, 1701 Mound Road, Jacksonville, with Pastor Patrick Embley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Macomb. Memorials are suggested to the donors choice. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family.
